Sabalenka Reaches No. 1 on WTA Race Leaderboard After Miami Triumph

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — Aryna Sabalenka has become the leader in the PIF Race to the WTA Finals rankings. This follows her victory at the WTA 1000 Miami Open presented by Itaú.

The 26-year-old tennis star has now reached four finals this season. She previously won the WTA 500 Brisbane International presented by Evie and was a runner-up at the Australian Open and the WTA 1000 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

Sabalenka`s Miami Open victory on Saturday, where she won every match without losing a set, earned her 1,000 points. This pushed her ahead of Madison Keys to the No. 1 position in the Race to the WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF.

Jessica Pegula, who Sabalenka defeated in the Miami final, has also significantly improved her position in the rankings, moving up three places to No. 5.

In doubles, Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend continue their strong performance and hold onto their No. 1 rank. Their Miami semifinal appearance contributed to their lead. Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider have risen to No. 2 after winning the Miami doubles title on Sunday, which was their first WTA 1000 doubles victory.
