Sekhudo explained why Topuria won’t be Makhachev’s next opponent

Former two-division UFC champion, Henry Cejudo, suggests that lightweight champion Islam Makhachev`s next title defense will probably not be against Ilia Topuria.

In a Mike Bohn interview, Cejudo stated that while Makhachev is willing to fight anyone, Khabib Nurmagomedov`s influence is likely steering him away from a Topuria matchup. Cejudo believes Nurmagomedov is advocating for Topuria to get a title shot later. Because of this, Cejudo predicts Makhachev will defend his title against Justin Gaethje.

It is recalled that Topuria, previously a featherweight champion, claimed the UFC guaranteed him a fight with Makhachev.
