Senators’ bittersweet playoff exit heralds new era

This year`s locker room cleanout day felt different for the Ottawa Senators compared to previous seasons.

While it`s typically a tough and disappointing time for the players, the significant progress made throughout the 2024-25 season and their return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs after an eight-year absence brought a measure of positive feeling.

Nevertheless, the conclusion of their playoff run still left a sour taste.

“Still not over it,” team captain Brady Tkachuk commented on Saturday. “To be honest with you, still wish we were playing game seven tonight.”
