Senators’ Playoff Berth: ‘A Good First Step’ Says GM Staios

After an eight-year absence, playoff hockey is back in Ottawa.

The Ottawa Senators secured their playoff spot on Tuesday night, sparking celebrations among players, fans, and the organization, marking a new chapter after years of rebuilding.

The playoff qualification came unexpectedly. Despite a 5-2 defeat to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, the Senators (42-30-6) clinched their spot when the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-1.

General Manager Steve Staios commented on Wednesday, `Last night was a bit unusual. We played one of our worst games this season and still made the playoffs. The team`s reaction was understandably muted.`

The Senators` return to the playoffs is the result of perseverance and dedication, marking the end of a challenging journey.
