BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tage Thompson achieved a hat trick, and Jason Zucker contributed the decisive goal early in the third period, helping the Buffalo Sabres to a 6-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Sunday night. This win marks the Sabres` fourth in a row.
Thompson extended his point streak to four games, initiating his scoring with a goal in the second period after the Bruins had taken an initial 2-0 lead. He further showcased his skill with another goal on a breakaway at the start of the third period and completed his hat trick with his 43rd goal of the season, netting an empty-netter in the final minute.
Alex Tuch and Rasmus Dahlin each contributed a goal and an assist to the Sabres` score. Peyton Krebs and Bowen Byram both provided two assists, while goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen successfully blocked 18 shots.
For the Bruins, David Pastrnak was instrumental in setting up all three of their goals, and Elias Lindholm marked his 600th NHL career point with a goal in the first period. Morgan Geekie and Casey Mittelstadt also scored for Boston. Goaltender Joonas Korpisalo made 31 saves during the game.
