UFC lightweight Arman Tsarukyan has offered his perspective on why Islam Makhachev, the promotion`s current featherweight champion, might be hesitant to face Ilia Topuria.
According to Tsarukyan, quoted via his Red Corner MMA account on X (formerly Twitter), “Islam isn`t keen on fighting Ilia because if he wins, people will just say, `Oh, you beat a welterweight again.` However, if Islam were to defeat me, I believe he would consider his work in the lightweight division complete.”
