Arman Tsarukyan, a former contender for the UFC lightweight title, has shared his opinion on who he believes are the only fighters capable of truly challenging the division`s current champion, Islam Makhachev.
According to Tsarukyan, “That`s a fair assessment. Topuria is stepping up in weight, and he`s a champion himself. I think a fight between us would be engaging. Topuria has the potential to create difficulties for him. Currently, within this weight class, I believe Topuria and I are the only fighters who could offer Islam a competitive bout. As for Gaethje, he`d be straightforward work for Islam. Makhachev has already defeated Oliveira.”
