Ullmark stands on head as Senators hold off Lightning

In a Thursday night game in Ottawa, Linus Ullmark, the Senators` goalie, delivered an outstanding performance, blocking 32 shots and leading Ottawa to a 2-1 victory over Tampa Bay. This defeat means the Lightning have not yet secured their playoff spot.

Despite the loss, Tampa Bay could still clinch a playoff berth if Colorado wins their game against Columbus later tonight.

Shane Pinto was the first to score for Ottawa, finding the net late in the first period. Early in the second period, Jake Sanderson extended Ottawa`s lead to 2-0 with a power play goal. Brandon Hagel responded for Tampa Bay, scoring his 34th goal of the season in the second period.

Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tampa Bay`s goalie, made 17 saves in the game. This was the second match of a four-game road trip for the Lightning, who entered the game on a four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead

The Lightning will play their next game in Buffalo on Saturday night. The Senators are set to host Florida on Saturday and Columbus on Sunday night.
