Verstappen Claims Fourth Imola Victory at 2025 Emilia-Romagna GP

Max Verstappen extended his winning streak at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, securing his fourth consecutive triumph at the Imola circuit. The reigning world champion successfully fended off a challenge from the McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who completed the podium.

Race Highlights

  • Starting from second position, Max Verstappen made an immediate move, overtaking pole-sitter Oscar Piastri at Turn 2 on the opening lap to seize the lead.
  • Lando Norris also improved his starting position, climbing to second place early in the race. Lewis Hamilton demonstrated strong pace, moving up several positions after starting outside the top 10.
  • A Virtual Safety Car period was initiated on Lap 30 when Esteban Ocon`s car stopped at the side of the track.
  • Verstappen established a significant advantage during the middle phase of the race, building a lead of over 18 seconds ahead of Norris by Lap 37.
  • The Safety Car was deployed on Lap 47 following Andrea Kimi Antonelli stopping his Mercedes on the side of the circuit.
  • Despite the Safety Car closing the pack, Verstappen controlled the restart and held off the pursuing McLaren duo to take the chequered flag and claim his victory.
