Al-Ittihad su Zhegrova

August 30, 2026Diego Herrera2 мин

Edon Zhegrova may leave Juventus less than a year after arriving from Lille. Following interest from Lazio, Al-Ittihad has also made a move in recent hours, inquiring about the player's availability and the terms of a potential transfer.

The Kosovo international winger is reportedly open to a move to Saudi Arabia. This decision is influenced not only by financial considerations but also by the prospect of playing in a league with less intense rhythms compared to European competitions.

Zhegrova has been struggling with physical issues that have limited his consistency. He was absent against Parma due to a muscular discomfort and has never managed to establish consistent form or a regular place in the Juventus squad.

His potential sale would have an immediate impact on Juventus's other strategies, significantly increasing the chances of Nico Gonzalez, who was decisive in the victory against Parma, remaining with the club.

Lazio Proposes a Straight Loan

Lazio was the first Italian club to make a concrete move, expressing interest and reportedly being willing to acquire Zhegrova on a straight loan deal, without an obligation to buy.

This formula is not very advantageous for Juventus, as it would temporarily free up a squad spot but offer no financial guarantees for a future sale. Furthermore, the player would remain in Serie A, facing the same rhythms and intensity that have complicated his recovery.

The Juventus management would prefer a permanent transfer or a loan with at least a buy-out option. For this reason, Lazio's proposal has not yet led to any acceleration.

Al-Ittihad's entry into the race could completely change the situation, especially if the Saudi club decides to present an offer to purchase his contract outright, as reported by Gazzetta.

Zhegrova Prefers Saudi Arabia

The Kosovo winger has reportedly responded positively to Al-Ittihad's inquiry. The Saudi Pro League would allow him to play in a league that is less physically demanding and manage his fitness better, as he is still far from full reliability.

Zhegrova underwent surgery in January 2025 to address a pubalgia issue. Since then, he has struggled to regain consistency, alternating short periods of availability with new setbacks.

Juventus had hoped he had overcome the problem definitively, but the start of the new season has also been affected by minor injuries. The muscular discomfort he experienced before the Parma match led to his exclusion from the squad and has raised new questions about his durability.

For the player, Saudi Arabia would therefore represent a more reassuring technical and financial solution compared to a transfer to another European club.
