PSG-Dembele, No Crisis. Moving Forward Together, Renewal Talks Until 2030

Paris Saint-Germain and Ousmane Dembélé are continuing their efforts to renew the contract. Negotiations between the French club and the entourage of the 2025 Ballon d'Or contender have been ongoing for several months. Despite the complexity of the operation, there's no significant concern filtering out of Paris; the shared desire is to extend their relationship. PSG considers Dembélé a fundamental element of their project, and the player himself has repeatedly expressed his wish to remain in the French capital. Even in private, the forward's stance is reportedly the same: to continue his adventure in the Parisian jersey.

One of the points yet to be finalized concerns the duration of the new agreement. The parties are evaluating an extension of one or two years, which would push the contract's expiry date to 2029 or 2030. Dembélé is regarded as a leader in the dressing room and one of the players most involved in the team's dynamics. The Frenchman, who even shortened his vacation to be in top form for the start of the new season, had, however, expressed surprise at some of Luis Enrique's recent decisions: from being on the bench in the Super Cup and the Trophée des Champions to being substituted at halftime against Rennes.

In Paris, this situation is being downplayed: "It's a storm in a teacup," is the sentiment filtering from the club's environment. The matter has only gained more attention because it involves the world's best coach and a Ballon d'Or candidate, but it is considered within the normal management of a top-tier squad.
