Callum Walsh Defeats Tyler Denny in Tough Decision Victory

Callum Walsh has successfully defended his undefeated record and cemented his status as a top contender with a unanimous decision triumph over Tyler Denny.

Denny, a seasoned former European champion, presented a significant challenge to the Irish middleweight at Dublin's 3Arena.

Walsh ultimately prevailed on the judges' scorecards, with two scoring it 98-91 and one 96-90.

The bout was not without its difficulties, as Denny proved to be a formidable opponent throughout the rounds.

The first round saw an early setback for Walsh. While positioned awkwardly, he bent low and was caught by Denny, subsequently slipping to the canvas. The referee ruled this a knockdown.

However, Walsh responded emphatically in the second round. As Denny advanced, Walsh landed a precise left cross to the chin, sending his English opponent to the canvas.

Despite being knocked down, Denny bravely continued. Walsh then followed up with a strong right hook and ended the round by pushing Denny against the ropes.

The Briton recovered from the second-round onslaught and pressed forward. By the end of the fourth round, Walsh was adopting a more defensive posture, allowing Denny to advance while landing accurate counter-punches.

Walsh maintained control by moving effectively, striking, and forcing Denny to work to pin him down.

Denny persistently moved forward, but Walsh skillfully maneuvered and landed a solid left-right combination to the head in the sixth round. Denny absorbed the blows but remained determined, attempting uppercuts at close range.

The referee deducted a point from Walsh for holding, but later evened it by penalizing Denny for a blow behind the head.

Walsh then unleashed a powerful series of punches to the head, leaving Denny momentarily stunned.

Despite this, Walsh sustained a cut over his left eye during a clash, which began to bleed significantly. Denny's aggressive style resulted in further nicks on Walsh's cheek, causing visible frustration.

In the 10th round, Walsh landed a strong lead right uppercut. Denny retaliated with hooks, catching Walsh with both his southpaw left and right hands.

Another solid left from Walsh connected with Denny, but he was unable to secure a second knockdown. Nevertheless, Walsh ensured he finished the fight in a dominant position.

'I believe he fractured my orbital bone'

Speaking to Sky Sports, Walsh commented: "It was a lot tougher than I anticipated. We clashed heads in the second round, and I think he fractured my orbital bone. It was making a crunching sound the entire time."
