Thunderstorm Warnings Persist Across Parts of the UK Amidst Forecasted Rain

August 27, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

The upcoming weekend's weather outlook is quite varied, characterized by a cooler feel, brisk winds, particularly in the southern regions, and intermittent rain is likely.

On Saturday, a band of wet weather is expected to sweep eastward across England and Wales. However, there's a possibility that drier and brighter conditions might emerge from the west later in the day. Northern Ireland and Scotland are anticipated to experience slightly drier conditions with some periods of sunshine, though isolated showers could still occur.

Heavy showers are predicted to move eastward again on Sunday, impacting most areas of the UK. Some of these showers could be intense and accompanied by thunder. By Sunday afternoon in the far south-west of England, wind gusts might reach speeds of 40-45 mph (64-72 km/h).

Temperatures are expected to be around average for late August, ranging from approximately 16°C (61°F) in northern Scotland to 23°C (73°F) in southern England.

Low-pressure systems are set to continue dominating the weather on Monday, bringing with them strong winds and further showers, which may be most significant across the northern parts of the UK.

There are currently no indications of a return to the dry and hot weather that has been prevalent throughout much of this summer.
