Tyler Gratton Joins Kalamazoo Wings
The Kalamazoo Wings, an ECHL team affiliated with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks, have finalized a trade for forward Tyler Gratton's contract rights from the Trenton Ironhawks. This move comes after Kalamazoo relinquished the qualifying-offer rights for their former forward, Hunter Strand. Gratton has officially signed with the K-Wings for the 2026-27 season.
Gratton is set to begin his third professional hockey season. In the previous season, he captained the Utah Grizzlies, tallying 37 points with 16 goals and 21 assists across 53 games.
Before his stint with Utah, Gratton played his rookie professional year with the Reading Royals in the 2024-25 season. During that season, he led the Royals in scoring with 20 goals, accumulating a total of 32 points in 71 games.
Gratton's journey to the professional ranks included significant collegiate experience. He played for Penn State University for four seasons and one season with Arizona State University. Throughout his NCAA career, he recorded 52 points (32 goals, 20 assists) in 159 games. He also served as an alternate captain at Penn State (2022-23) and captain at Arizona State (2023-24) before concluding the 2023-24 season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League.
